By BENJAMIN TOFF; Compiled by LAWRENCE VAN GELDER

No other network came close to catching Fox in the ratings on Wednesday, as 25.4 million viewers tuned in for the results edition of “American Idol,” Nielsen reported. The 9 p.m. episode, which included the elimination of 22-year-old Chikezie, left, came after Fox’s game show “The Moment of Truth” led the 8 o’clock time slot with 10 million viewers. The two programs were Wednesday’s highest-rated, with NBC’s "Law & Order" repeat at 10 trailing in third with 8.1 million viewers. NBC tied CBS for a distant second place on the night. CBS broadcast reruns of “Criminal Minds” at 9 (6.9 million viewers) and “CSI: NY” at 10 (7.5 million) following “Big Brother” at 8 (6 million). ABC, despite a fourth-place finish in total viewers, edged past CBS and NBC for second place among adults ages 18 to 49.
