ENTOURAGE: Naomi Campbell put in an appearance at Dolce & Gabbana this season, but not on the runway. She watched from the front row and, true to form, had her beefy bodyguards plow through the crowd to whisk her backstage afterward. Meanwhile, a newly strawberry blonde Rose McGowan, also at the show, feared legal retribution for revealing too much about what she is working on. "I can't or I'll get sued!" she cried. Fanny Ardant and Caterina Murino rounded out the celebrity section.

A SWANKY AFFAIR: As it counts down the days to its big 100th birthday bash on Oct. 12, Neiman Marcus has already received one glittering RSVP. Actress Hilary Swank is expected at a party being held that night at Neiman's downtown Dallas store.

CHINA OR BUST: Given that there were no celebrities at Fendi on Thursday, could Karl Lagerfeld be saving the stars for the reprisal of the spring-summer show next month on the Great Wall of China? Rumor has it Sharon Stone is trying to free up her schedule to make it to the landmark fashion event. Among others expected are LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton chief Bernard Arnault, artist Terence Koh and a host of international editors.
