Tanqueray No. TEN® Salutes Ne-Yo and Vh1 Save The Music Foundation!
East Hampton, NY (July 18, 2008) - The Makers of Tanqueray No. TEN® invited prominent individuals and influencers from the business, sports, music, entertainment and social worlds to celebrate the 5th Annual Vh1 Save the Music Hamptons Benefit and Concert, by honoring special guest Ne-Yo at a private and exclusive post-concert dinner party hosted by powerhouse couple Jaci and Morris L. Reid and Susan Shin. The hosts thanked the prolific musical artist for his contribution to the Vh1 Save the Music Hamptons Benefit and toasted his accomplishments with their favorite TEN Lavender Martini.
The evening abounded with surprises, including an impromptu call to Scott Kay%u2019s 13 year old son %u2013 in gratitude, the men%u2019s jewelry designer took off his own elaborate silver belt which Ne-Yo had admired, and gifted it to him. Not to be outdone, celebrity stylist and designer Phillip Bloch was so taken with the star, that he broke out into song and paid homage with a little Fred Astaire meets Ne-Yo-like step. As the guest of honor nodded in appreciation, actor Matthew Modine had his own fan club as he regaled Kelly Killoren Bensimon with stories of his days on set as well his new environmental initiative, Bike for a Day %u2013 he apparently contemplated riding his bicycle from NYC to the Hamptons but opted for a sporty convertible instead when he realized the 8-10 hour ride would entail him missing the dinner party!
Meanwhile, the effervescent and gracious Jaci Reid, came off the heels of the Vh1 Save the Music Concert to her beautiful East Hampton home to host the dinner party in a chic Jill Stuart jump suit a la Jerry Hall in Halston, drawing an admiring bow from Ne-Yo. Guests at the much coveted affair such as designer Dennis Basso, celebrated producer Tracey Edmonds, prominent author Rita Ewing, TLC Beatrice CEO and philanthropist Loida Lewis, humanitarian and wife of basketball legend Alonzo Mourning Tracy Mourning, real estate powerhouses Don Peebles and Michael Shvo (who drove up in matching Ferraris), designer Jill Stuart, power couple Rory and Elie Tahari, and social fixtures Vanessa von Bismarck and Marjorie Gubelmann milled around the green-lit pool and expansive lawn, lit with glowing globes, as they admired the single, contiguous table set for them. The stunning tabletop décor conceived by HGTV design guru Libby Langdon and inspired by Tanqueray No. TEN%u2019s emerald green and silver bottle with a touch of red, consisted of silvery organza overlaid with a metallic silver runner graced with silver musical instruments, emerald green stemware and plates against a pewter glass charger and martini glasses filled with orchids.
This intimate dinner party brought together a diverse and interesting group of friends who brought fresh perspectives to the table, but who were united in their celebration of individual creativity and artistry while saluting the efforts of those who make music affordable and accessible to all. Enjoying the refreshing taste of Tanqueray No. TEN specialty cocktails, as well as the low-calorie, low-sugar, flavored water TrimWater by Lifestyle Beverages, guests experienced the essence of Tanqueray No. TEN gin's bright citrus flavors (grapefruit, orange and lime, mixed harmoniously with juniper and accented by the slightest tease of soothing chamomile, resulting in a smooth, crisp finish) revealed in the delicious cocktails (TENacious, TEN Fresh and TEN Lavender Martini) that were savored throughout the evening as pairings with dinner presented by East Hampton%u2019s Nick & Toni%u2019s. Created under the watchful eye and uncompromising senses of Tanqueray No. TEN's Master Distiller, Tanqueray No. TEN is the only gin in the world distilled (four times) with handpicked, whole-fruit fresh botanicals -- produced exclusively in a special small batch still aptly dubbed "Tiny TEN," which is formulated for exquisite depth and character but refreshing lightness. Indeed, beneath the festive levity of the evening evidenced in laughter tinkling amongst raised glasses and spontaneous toasts, was the meaningful exchange of fresh ideas and perspectives between the guests which made a stimulating and unforgettable experience.
