David Ellis built an airplane hangar inspired structure in the Theory Gansevoort Street store and from March 27th through April 3rd, Ellis painted for seven days straight in the store. The entire process was captured in stop frame animation by a camera affixed to the ceiling of the structure, a process that Ellis calls Motion Painting. Flyway includes the seven day painting ("performance") process and the resulting compilation, entitled Baker's, a fast-forward explosion of the evolving imagery in time-lapse.
