GOOD SPORTS: "As a kid growing up, I was so skinny and geeky and flat-chested that track and field was where I got my confidence," Sheryl Crow told an audience of athletes Monday night at The Women's Sports Foundation's 28th Annual Salute to Women in Sports — adding it was her favorite event of the year. The group honored softball player Monica Abbott and golfer Lorena Ochoa as the 2007 Sportswomen of the Year (Team and Individual, respectively); Olympian figure skater Michelle Kwan as the Billie Jean King Contribution Award winner, and the Rutgers Women's Basketball Team as the Wilma Rudolph Courage Award recipients. Holly Hunter (who played the organization founder, Billie Jean King, in "Battle of the Sexes") and athletes like Laila Ali also attended the event, which was held at the Waldorf-Astoria in Manhattan and raised more than $1.3 million.
