The latest casualty of The Apprentice boardroom is Alex Finn, Alex unfortunately failed to impress during week four’s bodybuilding task.
Alex, who is 21, is one of the youngest in this year’s competition, was given the axe when he fell flat during a task that had the teams selling goods and services at a bodybuilding exhibition. Both team Typhoon and rival team Collaborative were pretty much neck and neck when it came to selling gym equipment, Collaborative nudged ahead though when it came to selling services – this ultimately resulted in defeat for Typhoon, led by project manager Sabrina.
Alex and Sian Gabbidon were asked back to the boardroom by Sabrina and ultimately it was Alex who got the chop.
Alex tried to convince Lord Sugar he had a ‘millionaire mindset’, but Lord Sugar responded, Alex: “You say you’re a good salesman but I’m struggling with what you’ve done.” Adding: “How can you look me in the eye and tell me you’re a natural salesman when you didn’t sell any equipment? You were in the exhibition that specialises for bodybuilders with bodybuilding equipment? ‘You’ve talked your way into this boardroom here and it’s not done you much good…Ending with the line, “Alex, you’re fired.”
Even though Lord Sugar hinted at yet another firing, Sabrina and Sian dodged the chopping block. Alex said: “I am a great salesman, but I haven’t been able to show it on this task,” adding: “If I’d been there for longer we would have got sales and we would have won this task. At the end of the day I’m 21, it’s a massive achievement to even get this far. You’ve just got to look to the future and that’s what I’m doing.”
Lord Sugar will continue his search for his next business partner next week as we’ll see the12 remaining candidates design their own range of ladies’ shoes.
