Strictly Come Dancing’s Darcey Bussell has rubbished any reports that there was any tension between herself and her fellow judge on the show Shirley Ballas. She also hinted that she wondered if the two of them were men would there be such negative speculation.
This all started when Shirley joined the show last years when she replaced Len Goodman as head judge. The newspapers had a field day with claims that there had been “epic snubs” and “simmering tension” between Shirley and Darcey.
Darcey hit back and addressed the claims saying that they couldn’t be ‘further from the truth.’
She told The Telegraph: “Of course I get on with Shirley,” adding: “She’s hysterical, she’s got a great sense of humour, and I totally respect her amazing amount of knowledge. She’s great to be with.”
When posed the suggestion that that it’s usually women who face those sorts of rumours, Darcey responded: “Funny that… I don’t know why that is. Maybe we ask for it? I’m not sure. She added: “If we were in two suits, I wonder if they would treat us differently.”
This years rumoured celebrity line-up could very well included, Good Morning Britain‘s Piers Morgan, Capital FM presenter Vick Hopeand soap star Chelsea Halfpenny.
