Were still still trying to find out who will be in the lineup for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, and word has it thatthe show has been working hard to sign up Michelle Keegan so strut her stuff.
That being said, the former Coronation Street star’s husband Mark Wright has now weighed in to have his say about the claims she’s about to join the BBC’s dance floor later this year.
Mark appeared on Good Morning Britain and was asked by host Ben Shephard about Michelle’s odds on joining the show.
Ben said: “In the paper, they’re getting excited about the new Strictly line-up and Mrs Wright is on the list,” adding: “She’s 2/1 to be going in – is she?”
When asked, Mark kind of laughed it off saying, if Michelle was joining, she hadn’t spoken to him about it.
He said: “Not that I know of,” adding: “If she’s going to be in some of them grubs in the jungle or dancing on Strictly, she’s doing it without telling me!
“I don’t think so, she’s busy. She’s got a new show coming up at the end of this year that I’m sure is going to be announced very soon.”
Co-host Ranvir Singh got involved and asked Mark: : “Would you mind her getting so up close and personal with a lovely dancer?”
Mark responded laughing: “Oh stop it! Don’t ask silly questions.” Adding: : “As long as she’s dancing with me when she gets home that’s all that matters.”
Mark is no stranger to the show, in 2014 he made it all the way to the final with his pro dance partner Karen Clifton.
Strictly Come Dancing will return to our screens on BBC One in the autumn.
