Rapper Mac Miller has died.
He passed away after an apparent overdose on Friday 7th September. The rapper, who had previously dated singer Ariana Grande – was apparently found unconscious at his home in San Fernando Valley home and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mac was in the midst of preparing for his solo tour to support the release of his new album, Swimming.
He had a massive online presence, 8.59million followers, and in his last post to social media he said: “I just wanna go on tour.” It’s been a tough year for Mac, he split with Ariana after dating for two years, and she then started dating Pete Davidson, and got engaged only months after their romance became official.
Mac came out saying he was really happy for the new couple, in one of the last interviews before his death. Talking with Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio, he explained: “It’s strange. Like, the whole thing is a little strange but it’s not negative. It’s just a part of something that’s going to continue to help make me who I am.” Adding: “You know, it’s all positive energy. I am happy for her and moving forward with her life just as I’m sure she is with me.”
Once Mac’s death was officially released to the public, Wiz Khalifa was the first to pay tribute to the late star.
He said via Twitter: “Praying for Mac’s family and that he rest easy.”
