Never one to not say what he thinks, Robbie Williams has laid bare why he joined the judging panel on the X Factor.
Robbie was on This Morning and spoke with Roman Kemp explaining that there are “millions of reasons” as to why he became part of The X Factor set up.
Here comes the honesty. The singer said: “I came for the money but I am staying for the show.”
With regards to the new judging line up, Capital Breakfast presenter Roman explained that he’d had a look at the new show and line up and admitted that Ayda is a really exciting addition to the panel.
Roman said: “She really tells it how it is,” adding: “And Robbie is just giving it everything.”
It appears that there is plenty more revelations in the interview and that viewers would have to continue watching to see what transpires.
Ayda’s addition to the panel was initially met with indifference by the shows fans, and Robbie felt it necessary to come to his wife’s defense.
Robbie said: “Ayda is a member of the public too and they never get it wrong.”
Ayda’s lack of musical experience was the main concern, but the Loose Women panelist explained her position, and the experience she has gained by living with one of the UK’s biggest stars: “I think being with Rob for 12 years… I’ve been every step of the way with him,” adding: “I have a huge amount of empathy for the process. I know what it takes from creating the songs… to promoting, to live shows. It’s a very emotional process.
“I’m excited to be that rock and that stability and that guidance for my group. And to help some people out, help them achieve their dreams. I’m really excited about that.”
“And as a member of the general public, which I love,” she added. “Because this is about the general public!”
The X Factor will return to our screens later this year on ITV.
