Contestants beware. This season’s version of the The Voice Kids is going even tougher than the last, why? Well, one of the judges, McFly’s Danny Jones, says that this season, ‘the level’s going to be even higher than before.’
Danny explained: “We knew what the level of talent was going to be like from the last series, so we were a bit harsher,” he told Metro, adding: “The talent is unbelievable. We want that level of talent this time to be as good as the final was last time, but right from the start.”
“We’d never done the show before – like me and Pixie didn’t know what it would be like.”
“We were like, ‘Yeah we know what’s good’, but you don’t know what we’re looking for. Now we’ve got experience, we feel like we own that chair a little more now.”
Talking of this season, Danny added: “We knew what the level of talent was going to be like from the last series, so we were a bit harsher.”
For the McFly man it was a labour of love. He asked if he could be a part of the show and genuinely wants to help discover some real musical talent.
“I do it because I love it, I love working with the kids,” said Danny: “I think it’s amazing,” adding: “The kids in particular, there’s no last-ditch effort, there’s no desperation, there’s no money involved.
“They’re doing it for the love of it, I’m doing it for the love of it, I think it shows. I wouldn’t have that energy that I have otherwise.”
You can catch the new series of The Voice Kids on Saturday, July 14th on ITV at 8pm.
